For this kitchen remodel, the homeowner was looking to do away with the two-tier island as it didn’t give them much room around their cooktop. We tore off the old countertop and made the island one level for them which gave them more room to work. For the kitchen cabinets, since they were in good condition, cabinet refacing was the perfect solution for them. They went with the Stratus white cabinets for the perimeter cabinets, while the island was done in a flint color. We also added a picket gloss white ceramic tile backsplash and soffit crown molding. For the island countertop they went with a quartz countertop in Soho while the perimeter countertop was done in a Storm color. Now this homeowner has the kitchen of their dreams.

Kitchen Transformation

When Fort Wayne, Indiana homeowners contacted us for a fresh new look to their kitchen, we stopped in to see what they were working with. The original kitchen was dark and dated, but the cabinets were still in great shape, and the homeowners were happy with the layout for the most part. Cabinet refacing allowed us to update this kitchen with a whole new style and even add some more functionality, but keep the existing cabinet boxes, which reduced the amount of time and money for the homeowners. After discussing the options with the homeowners, they chose the Lincoln door style from our Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection to give the kitchen a transitional look. The cabinets were complete in a downy white finish with a pewter glaze, which just gives the doors a slight antiqued look. We added a few cabinet boxes to the tops of the existing wall cabinets to extend the length of the cabinets and give the kitchen more functional storage.

We then removed the microwave and installed a stainless-steel hood in its place. For the hutch area, we added all new cabinets with some glass doors in the upper cabinets and a microwave cabinet in the lower cabinet with some additional storage. We were able to add this new cabinetry, but match it with the existing cabinets and then reface all cabinets to give them the same look. For the hutch portion of the kitchen, the cabinets were done in a pewter color to add a little more detail. Next, we installed new under cabinet lights and ran lighting inside the glass doored cabinets to really brighten up the space. To finish the new look, we installed a ceramic tile backsplash in a light gray. This kitchen is now transitional, bright, and more functional. It is full of storage and the homeowners are excited to call it their own!

There is nothing quite like the character you get from an older home, however when you go to remodel parts of the home to fit your style, it can be a challenge. Floors and walls might not be level, electric outlets can be wired differently or in places you don’t want them, plumbing might not match what you want. That’s why we knew when homeowners of this old home in Garrett, IN contacted us, we’d have to be sure to carefully measure, design and manage the project to stay within a budget. With unlevel floors and walls and unusable old kitchen cabinets, we designed a new kitchen that fit the homeowners’ style and budget. As in most older homes, the kitchen was a relatively small space, and we wanted to maximize the space and functionality to meet the needs of the homeowners. We made sure to work with the homeowners to pick styles and materials that were budget-friendly, but still quality materials.

After removing the old kitchen, we got to work with adding North Point Catalina White cabinets. We used EZ-Level levelers on the base cabinets to make sure that the cabinets were not only level when we set them, but would also continue to remain level as the house settled. To create more storage and functionality, we installed taller cabinets, used a lazy susan in the angled corner cabinet, and replaced the hood with an above the range microwave to free up counter space. We added a large pantry cabinet and a double trash pull-out for extra storage and an efficient layout. We used a Wilson Art Stormy Night laminate countertop to stick with the transitional style and stay within the client’s’ budget. A single bowl top-mount composite sink and white ceramic tile with a dove gray grout was installed for the finishing touches. This old home now has a fresh new kitchen that is ready for the homeowners to enjoy!

Kitchen Transformation

Homeowners in the North Webster area contacted us to see if they could update their kitchen without removing their existing quartz countertops. Cabinet refacing allowed us to do just that! The homeowners were looking for a more traditional style and decided on a walnut in a natural finish. Most of the cabinets were in great condition, but a few needed some additional work. We decided to create some depth by adding a few taller cabinets above the microwave. We also added some roll-out shelves for additional storage and a pullout double waste basket for more functionality. The pantry and the cabinets above the fridge were all level. We added height to those cabinets to create more character in the finished kitchen.

After we removed all of the decorative panels and wooden bar supports, we installed new wainscot panels and black metal countertop supports around the outside of the peninsula. This gave the kitchen a more traditional and cleaner look. Matte black finish hardware was added to tie in with the countertop supports. When the kitchen was complete, the homeowners got to enjoy the quartz countertops they have always loved, but were able to match the rest of the kitchen to their style and preferences.
